Low Bridge Detection System - 0-870-63 and 0-870-64

· What is it?

Durite® evolutionary Low Bridge Detection System is designed to help prevent overhead collisions specifically Low Bridge Strikes. There are on average 5 bridge strikes per day in the UK at a cost of £23m per year to the UK taxpayer.

There are two systems for consideration 0-870-63 Low Bridge Detection System For Use With MDVR and 0-870-64 Low Bridge Detection Standalone Kit.

· How does it work?

Durite® Low Bridge Detection System uses the latest cutting-edge leading AI Camera technology supplemented with high accuracy GPS (10Hz).

Utilising GPS alongside the preloaded low bridge database, the system can detect bridges within a preset radius (30-200M). The system will then notify the driver in real time via the vibrant R Watch display that a bridge is in nearby proximity.

While approaching the bridge, the AI camera can detect warning signs and the bridge hole from up to 100M distance. Using the AI algorithm the system provides a final real time notification to the R Watch Display Panel guiding the operator as to whether they can consider to proceed.

· How easy is it to fit?

The equipment is all mounted inside the cab with simple connections. Set up is a step-by-step process detailed in the manual. Installation can range from 2 – 3 hours depending on installer experience.

· How can I change the height for my specific load?

Using the Durite® 0-870-66 dedicated Keypad the operator can change the preloaded vehicle height dynamically. The height can be displayed in either Metric or Imperial depending on user preference.

Alternative method is to pre-set the height at installation and calibration using Durite® 0-876-32 Easy Check module (not included with Durite® LBDS). This is applicable to both systems MDVR and Standalone.

· Why do I need this?

The Durite® 0-870-66 Keyboard is useful for fleet operators who may change loads periodically.

An example of this could be HGV’s towing Agricultural equipment and changing loads to alternative large machinery during single operating journeys. If the load height changes at any time throughout the operator’s route, they can account for this by updating the system according to the load they are now carrying to ensure maximum effectiveness of the system.

· Can I record the warnings?

Using the Durite® 0-870-63 MDVR Low Bridge Detection system, all events and alarms are recorded to the main MDVR log.

When used in conjunction with Durite® Live Cloud all events and alarms are pushed to the cloud in real time for operator analysis.

· Do I need to fit a MDVR for this to work?

Durite® 0-870-64 Low Bridge Detection System is a dedicated Standalone system designed for fleets who do not have a MDVR installed. The system operates identically just without ability to record events and alarms.
